WOMEN ENGAGED
IN TRANSACTIONAL SEX
The Advancement for Health Workshop aims for the empowerment of women between the ages of 18 and 35 involved in the sex trade. These women are educated about the various modes of HIV Transmission and Risk Reduction Strategies.
Session topics includes: AIDS 101, condom education, and money management. The employability skills & job search assistance workshops provides options for the women (optional) to seek alternative work.
A4H Workshops are divided into three monthly sessions: AIDS 101, condom negotiation and budgeting.
A4H was designed to address the complex and interrelated problems associated with young women who engage in transactional sex and female sex work in New Providence and by extension, some of the family islands including Grand Bahama.
